TITLE: Analyst - Operations Planning

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ANALYST - OPERATIONS PLANNING

  • Use the material flow functions to maintain the synchronous material/order flow through the manufacturing process in support of the key manufacturing goals as directed.
  • Calculate, define, and maintain planned work center throughputs and capacity. Identify and resolve short-term capacity and material/order flow constraints preventing the dependable scheduling or reliable shipment of orders.
  • Identify the daily and weekly work center schedules as required to maintain the synchronous flow of material/orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Provide these schedules to supervisor or more senior Operations Planning Analyst for communication in the weekly manufacturing scheduling meetings.
  • Review and assess impacts created by the change of work center cost management rates on the work center's capacities.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE ANALYST - OPERATIONS PLANNING

  • Four-year degree with a concentration in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operation with a minimum of three years' experience in one of the following disciplines: Order Scheduling, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, or Manufacturing Management with on-the-job interaction in a constraint-based flow management environment preferred. High School Diploma Required
  • Understanding key business drivers; use this knowledge in own work. Expands fundamental knowledge in own function and broadens skills.
  • Be accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team.
  • Work with others to achieve team goals through expanded knowledge and skills within own function. May be accountable for subsets for project deliverables. Has no formal role in managing projects.
  • Aware of costs and assists in controlling costs related to own work.
  • Knowledgeable of problem-solving techniques and data collection resources, Shop Floor Data Control Systems, OORS, MPPS, PICS and the interaction of these systems, and various software applications such as Lotus Notes, Word, Excel.
  • Solve a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
  • Responds to non-standard requests from customers; investigates with assistance from others as needed.
  • Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decision, to operate a computer workstation, work and solve problems in production and commercial oriented environments, follow directions, policies, procedures, and standard processes, coordinate multi-discipline resources for problem resolution, and represent Operations Planning at Crew or Team meetings.

PREFERRED FOR THE ANALYST - OPERATIONS PLANNING

  • APICS certification desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Willing to work in a fast paced, every changing work environment.
