Overview:
As a Concrete Construction Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed ahead of schedule, within budget, and meet all specifications. This role offers you the chance to contribute to large-scale projects, working directly with clients and overseeing teams to achieve excellence in construction.
Location & Travel:
This is primarily a traveling, project-based position, with up to 90% of your time spent on-site across various locations in the U.S. You'll typically engage in projects lasting 8-18 months. We provide a generous per diem and excellent base salary to help with your living expenses, along with mobilization support, a company vehicle, and a fuel card or vehicle allowance. Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties expected of a foreman position.
- Promote and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and delegate site activities to foremen and field personnel to meet deadlines and production goals.
- Oversee subcontractor activities effectively.
- Engage with clients to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
- Manage materials' delivery, ensuring they are received undamaged and in the correct quantities.
- Document any issues, such as damage to materials or change order requests, and monitor compliance with all paperwork.
- Anticipate equipment and material needs to maintain crew productivity.
- Check the quality of completed work and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Handle customer complaints swiftly and professionally.
- Supervise and mentor a team of foremen and crews of up to 30 or more employees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in heavy industrial construction, particularly in concrete projects.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and ability to lead by example.
- Proficient in construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating teams and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform hard physical work in varying outdoor conditions, potentially for up to 12 hours a day. This includes lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and working at heights while adhering to all safety regulations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary in the range of $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
