Job Summary: As an Electrophysiology Interventional Radiologic Technologist, you will play a vital role in performing essential functions before, during, and after electrophysiology procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of equipment setup and functionality in the electrophysiology lab, including troubleshooting technical issues.
- Assist physicians during instrumentation, pacing, and recording activities in EP procedures, ensuring accurate data recording and storage.
- Conduct device interrogations for inpatients and post-operative patients.
- Serve as a liaison for patients and physicians, coordinating outpatient visits and inpatient procedures.
- Support physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias during invasive procedures.
- Educate patients regarding procedural expectations at all stages.
- Provide mentorship to new team members and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
- Participate actively in ongoing professional development and keep current with all qualifications and skills.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture that reflects our organization’s mission and values.
- Other related tasks as assigned, ensuring adherence to guidelines for handling intravenous fluids.
Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification: Must possess a Licensed Radiology Technician credential from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, and a Radiologic Technologist credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certification Requirements: Heart Saver AED certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required, along with graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology or Cardiac Electrophysiology program.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of related experience; experience in Advanced ECG interpretation, EP mapping, and ablation systems is preferred.
