A 350+ bed medical center near Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Medical Staff Services Director to lead their Physician Credentialing department.

MedStaff Director Overview:

  • Reports to Chief Medical Officer
  • Supported by seven (7) staff
  • 700 Providers/MD that work through 60 different specialties

This Medical Staff Director serves as a liaison between the Medical Services Organization (MSO) and all other areas of the Medical Center that provides medical staff support. It is essential that the Medical Staff Director collaborates and develops a relational connection with Administration, other leaders in the Medical Center and the Physicians. The Physician Credentialing Director will consistently support the mission and values of the Medical Center. The senior hospital and medical group leadership stand by their mission and values that patient care comes first and they are looking to advance the health and wellness of the community served.

The Physician Credentialing Director and Medical Staff Director's responsibilities will include: providing operational, financial, and quality oversight for Medical Staff services inclusive of credentialing, maintenance of medical fair hearing plan staff privileging, and physician twenty-four hour availability via the call schedule. The Medical Staff Director will innovate to streamline medical staffworkflows, and is service-oriented to enhance the reputation of the medical staff organization as a conduit to the physician and allied health community. The Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist collaborates with Chief of Staff and other Physician leaders to coordinate medical staff operational effectiveness via meeting structure and communication, educational offerings, and quality effectiveness.
