This individual inspects, sorts, and categorizes products according to predetermined specifications and standard operating procedures, maintaining adherence to all safety policies and required personal protective equipment at all times. Success in this role requires low-error execution, high efficiency, and consistent upholding of Goodwill BLUE values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Financial - Sustains growth through financial stewardship & fiscal responsibility. Meets hourly quota and quality goals as outlined in the training guide, showing meaningful improvement over the 90 day period. Inspects donated apparel, analyzing the quality, condition, material type, size, and style to determine proper sorting category. Sorts apparel into designated categories according to established specifications and standards. Maintain accurate records such as the tally weights of sorted and graded apparel. Participates in daily closeout procedures, including weighing gaylords, recording weights, combining bins, and resetting stations for the next shift. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft or misappropriation or unauthorized possession of company property. Customer & Community - Collaborates with customers to understand and deliver customer needs & expectations. May be cross trained to work as a Runner, Baler, and/or Forklift Operator. Maintains a clean work environment, including restrooms, floors, walls, windows, and parking lots, as directed. Operational Excellence - Implements strategies to maximize resources and infrastructure. Receives and processes apparel from the retail stores, inspecting quality, type of material, size and/or style of clothing, and sorts the apparel into the appropriate category. Identifies non qualifying items for alternate waste diversion routes. Maintains workstation in an organized and safe manner free from food, drink, or other personal items. Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with, and appropriate safety equipment is used. Immediately acts and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards. This position requires standing for long periods of time. At times this employee may be exposed to the outside environment. The noise in this environment will be moderate to loud.
