The Laboratory Manager of Transfusion and Tissue Services will work within an acute care hospital system that provides advanced services such as open-heart surgery, specialized cancer treatments, trauma care, vascular care, neurosurgery, as well as orthopedic and spinal care. The Laboratory Manager of Transfusion and Tissue Services will join a full-service laboratory that is accredited by the New York State Department of Health and the Joint Commission. The laboratory and pathology service lines provide a variety of services including chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, phlebotomy, urinalysis, hematology, histology, cytology, and blood transfusion services. This service line performs more than 1.5 million tests each year utilizing the most cutting-edge technologies.
The Laboratory Manager will oversee all clinical and administrative functions of the Transfusion and Tissue service line including personnel and resource management, department fiscal budget, and all performance improvement initiatives. Utilizing the Blood Bank model, the Laboratory Manager will lead all transfusion and tissue services throughout the health system. Bachelor's degree from an accredited Medical Technologist program is required. At least 5-6 years of prior laboratory leadership experience is required.
