A Magnet recognized academic hospital seeks a Nurse Manager of the Behavior Health Emergency Department to join their incredible team in central North Carolina!

Each year this 900-bed facility proudly provides care to over 37,000 patients. The Behavioral Health Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provides care to approximately 3,000 patients annually. There are three separate locked units within the Psychiatric Emergency Department. Together, these units can accommodate up to 42 patients seeking mental health care. Behavior Health Emergency Department staff partner with Emergency Medicine to ensure the focus of care is aimed toward the unique needs of the patients and their families.

The Nurse Manager of the Behavior Health Emergency Department will report directly to the Associate Director and the Director of Emergency Services. The Psychiatric ER Nurse Manager will lead the department in providing comprehensive clinical care for all psychiatric disorders in patients of all ages. The Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health will have the opportunity to guide patient care, human resource management, budget management, accreditation issues, quality improvement, education, and customer satisfaction.

This academic facility seeks an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Leader who holds their BSN. The healthcare organization prefers that the Nurse Manager of the Behavior Health Emergency Department has a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and 1 year of experience in leadership. Professional certification (ANCC Magnet approved) relevant to Management, Leadership or Clinical Area is required with the probationary period of employment.
