Full time and 4 days a week available

Established over 100 years ago, our client is a growing and sustainable business located in rural Darwen who are looking for two payroll professionals to join the accounts team on a permanent basis. This is a great role for someone who is looking to take autonomy in their role, being responsible for end to end weekly and monthly payrolls. There is also the opportunity for professional development, with scope to undertake professional training and qualifications funded by the business. Responsibilities of the role:

  • Working together to process both weekly and monthly payrolls using Sage
  • Managing the time and attendance system, spotting any discrepancies
  • SMP, SSP and SPP calculations
  • Processing all Year End payroll information
  • P60s and P11Ds
  • Reconciliations
  • Absence reporting and assisting the management team where needed

What we're looking for:

  • Existing experience working within a payroll function - whether inhouse or bureau
  • Knowledge of processing weekly payrolls
  • A friendly personality and inquisitive nature - checking for any discrepancies and challenging where necessary
  • Ability to work well with other people and good communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, knowledge of pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Experience using Sage
