Job Description

We are seeking a Public Relations Manager with on-camera experience to join the team of our ad agency client. This position will plan and execute public relations and community relations programs designed to create and maintain a positive image for assigned clients. The ideal candidate is able to interpret the client's brand and strategic marketing plan through the lens of content marketing, public relations and social media, and have a passion for storytelling. This role works cross-functionally internally with account service, creative team members and media team members, and externally with media partners.


  • Developing strategic plans and calendars to support client goals through public relations activities including press releases, feature stories, technical articles and social media
  • Serving as an advocate for client businesses and as spokesperson when requested, building and maintaining positive relationships with the public
  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with the media, experience and strong comfort level being on-camera
  • Content strategy and writing of all publicity pieces including news releases, bylines and articles
  • Determining when and where to send all news releases for placement
  • Writing online content for blogs, websites, and social media when needed
  • Coordinating with content marketing plans that include video and podcast production
  • Researching new options for relevant digital/social channels as they arise

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in media relations including developing media strategies, leveraging key media relationships and ability to establish new and top-tier press contacts
  • Managing public relations efforts of B2C retail businesses
  • Strong acumen in media monitoring platforms such as Cision, Meltwater or IQ Media
  • Knowledgeable of social media platforms and trends such as Hootsuite
